The Immelhäuserhof is a historic farm in the southern part of the district (core town) of Sinsheim in the Rhein-Neckar district in northwestern Baden-Württemberg .

geography

The Immelhäuserhof is located about two and a half kilometers northwest of Weiler in the headwaters of the Ilvesbach, about two kilometers northwest and below the Steinsberg .

history

According to Karl Wilhelmi , the Immelhausen settlement is said to have emerged in the 8th century at the same time as Sinsheim . After the Thirty Years War , the lords of Venningen , landlords of Weiler, recruited Mennonites who had fled Switzerland to Alsace as tenants. They settled these on the abandoned farm and on the nearby Birkenauerhof . In 1650 the tenant family Binkele came to the Immelhäuserhof. The extended family founded an Anabaptist congregation there, which held its meetings on the farm until 1912. At times the courtyard was solidly walled and also had its own cemetery. Gravestones and remains of walls have been preserved. Today the estate consists of four farms owned by different families.
