Improvement District

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

An improvement district is a special district church in Alberta . According to Section 581 of the Municipal Government Act, these special administrative units can be formed by the Vice-Governor of Alberta on the proposal and recommendation of the responsible minister.

These districts are usually areas with special requirements, which result from the fact that they are usually national park or provincial park areas. These special administrative units are administered by the Alberta Municipal Affairs department . The residents of the districts elect their representatives to this authority accordingly. There are currently (as of July 2012) eight Improvement Districts in Alberta. For better differentiation, the districts with numbers usually have the names of the parks in them appended, there is no name for the ID 349.
