Daniela Boschinova

Daniela Stojanowa Boschinowa (common transliteration Daniela Stoyanova Bozhinova , Bulgarian Даниела Стоянова Божинова ; born November 27, 1960 in Burgas , Bulgaria ) is a Bulgarian civil rights activist and politician of the Selenite party . In addition to her mother tongue, she also speaks English, Arabic, Russian, German, Italian and French. Boschilowa also works with international associations and organizations such as Mehr Demokratie ev and Democracy International .

Life

Daniela Boschinowa was born in the port city of Burgas, where she also finished her education with the completion of the English high school "Geo Milew". She then moved to the Bulgarian capital, where she studied Arabic and English at the St. Kliment Ohridski University in Sofia . After completing her studies, she completed further training in international law and foreign trade at the University of National and World Economics . After her studies, she worked in several North African countries.

After the fall of communism in Bulgaria, in the early 1990s she founded the association “Bulgarian Association for the Promotion of Citizens' Initiative” (Bulgarian Българско сдружение за насърчаване на гражданската инициативата инициативата инициативата инициативата. With the association, she campaigned for more civil rights and for the green movement in more than 30 projects, including against the construction of the Burgas-Alexandroupolis oil pipeline , for access to public buildings for the disabled and for more direct democracy . In 2006 she became the first Bulgarian citizen to win a court case against the Bulgarian state, especially against the municipality of Burgas for refusing to provide information.

She was one of the co-organizers of the referendums against the construction of the pipeline that took place in Burgas and Pomorie. This commitment earned her in 2009 participation in the Fulbright program .

2009 candidate they unsuccessfully from the list of party Selenite for the European Parliament . In late 2011 she became Vice President of Democracy International .

At the end of 2011 she was proposed for the post of Ombudsman of the Burgas Municipality. However, she was defeated in the election in the municipal council with 13 to 32 votes against the previous incumbent, the lawyer Tanjo Atanassow. However, since Atanasov missed the required two-thirds majority of 34 votes, a long process was necessary. In June 2012, Boschilova ran for the post.
