Gameplay
Starting in London, players travel from place to place by playing travel cards and end up back in London. They can either use the railroad or the ship, and in some cases both are necessary. Depending on the number of travel funds required for the route, one, two or three travel cards must be played. Alternatively, a balloon and an elephant for the leg between Bombay and Calcutta are available. The lower the value of the travel cards played , the fewer days the players need for the stage. Further delays result from the detective, because if he is on the same space as your own playing figure at the end of your own turn, you have to move your time marker two spaces forward. Once a player has reached London, the time pressure increases for the others, because they now lose one day per round and the options are limited. The winner is the player who needed the fewest days upon arrival in London, it doesn't have to be the player who reached London first.
