Ina Forsman

Ina Forsman (* 1994 in Helsinki ) is a Finnish singer and songwriter whose music lies somewhere between soul , jazz and blues .

biography

Ina Forsman, who grew up in Helsinki, says that at the age of six she decided to become a singer. At the age of 15 she took part in "The Voice of Finland", but dropped out in the first round. The Finnish blues harmonica player Helge Tallqvist invited them to perform together. Forsman was a member of Tallqvist's band for two years. In 2013 they released the album Ina Forsman With Helge Tallqvist Band .

In 2013 she won the “Finnish Blues Challenge” and in 2014 represented Finland at the “European Blues Challenge” in Riga (4th place). Then she went on tour with the Belgian blues musician Guy Verlinde.

In 2016 Ruf Records released her first solo album Ina Forsman with ten tracks, which she composed with Tomi Leino and for which she wrote the lyrics, and a cover of Nina Simone's I Want A Little Sugar In My Bowl . The album, recorded in Austin, Texas , was produced by Mark "Kaz" Kasnoff. In the same year Forsman went - together with Layla Zoe and Tasha Taylor - with Ruf's "Blues Caravan" on tour; a CD and a DVD with the title Blues Caravan 2016 were also released .
