Ina Hunger (* 1965 ) is a German sports scientist and university professor .

Life

Hunger studied sports science, German, pedagogy and psychology at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen for teaching at grammar schools. In 1993 she passed the exams for the first state examination. From 1994 to 1996 she held a position as a research assistant at the Institute for Sports Science at the Georg-August University in Göttingen in the field of sports and education, and from 1994 to 1997 she also held a teaching position at the Institute for Sports Science at the Justus Liebig University Gießen and in 1996 a teaching position at the Institute for Sport Didactics at the University of Hamburg . In 1996, Hunger took up a position as a research assistant at the Department of Education and Cultural Studies at the University of Osnabrück , where he worked in the Department of Sports and Sports Science, specializing in sports education and didactics. In 1999 she completed her doctoral thesis in Osnabrück (title: "Action orientations in everyday life in physical education: a qualitative study") and thus obtained the academic degree of Doctor of Philosophy.

In 1999 and 2000 she was a research assistant in the sports didactics department at the Institute for Humanities and Social Sciences in Sports at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster . At the same university, she was also given a teaching position at the Psychological Institute, which she performed in 2000 and 2001. In 2000, Hunger took up a position as a research assistant (later senior research assistant) at the Faculty of Education and Cultural Studies at the University of Osnabrück. She stayed at the Lower Saxony University until 2009. During this time, namely in 2004, she completed her habilitation in the Faculty of Education and Cultural Studies . In 2006 she also obtained the international authorization for "University Didactic Teaching". In 2008, Hunger took over a professorship for sport and education at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen . From 2013 to 2017 she was Vice President for Education on the Executive Board of the German Association for Sports Science .

Hunger's scientific work includes, among other things, the areas of gender research , inclusion , qualitative research in sports science, aspects of physical education, time experience in sports, exercise in childhood, including in elementary school and kindergarten.
