Inada Ryukichi
Inada Ryūkichi ( Japanese 稲 田 龍 吉 also read Inada Ryōkichi , born March 18, 1874 in Nagoya , died February 27, 1950 in Tokyo ) was a Japanese bacteriologist.
Live and act
Inada Ryūkichi studied medicine at Tōkyō University under Aoyama Tanemichi (1859-1917). In 1902 he went to Germany for further training. After his return he became a professor at the Fukuoka Medical School (福岡 医科大学, today Medical Faculty of the Kyushu University )
In 1915 discovered Inada, together with Ido Yutaka (井 戸 泰; 1881–1919), the bacterium Leptospira icterohaemorrhagie, which causes Weil's disease . From 1918, after his appointment to the University of Tōkyō , studied flu and internal medicine. Inada later headed the Kōraku Clinic, which belongs to the Japan Foundation of Cancer Research (が ん 研究 会, Gan Kenkyūkai) founded in 1908.
From 1943 to 1946 Inada was 3rd President of the Japanese Medical Society (日本 医師 会, Nihon Ishikai), in 1944 he was awarded the Cultural Order by the Emperor .
In 1949 Inada wrote the first book of medicine in Japan, which is addressed to the family: "Katei no igaku (家庭 の 医学)".
