Indian Summer was a short-lived but influential emocore / screamo band from Oakland , California / USA from the 1990s .
history
The band was founded in 1993 in Oakland . In the first year of its existence, two releases were made with the EP of the same name and the split with the band Current .
The band broke up in 1994. Before that, two more splits were released. The Future Recordings label subsequently released two CDs with compiled well-known song material from the band.
style
The style of the band is considered to be the style for future Screamo groups. The band, however, always saw themselves as a "normal" emo band. The sound is characterized by extreme contrasts between quiet, almost whispering, monotonous chants and long, brute screams. The songs often seem chaotic and cacophonic.
Indian Summer never gave their songs names themselves. The fans came up with today's names.
