Indochinese Communist Party

The Indochinese Communist Party ( Vietnamese Đảng Cộng sản Đông Dương , French Parti Communiste Indochinois , Chinese : 印度支那 共產黨, Laotian ອິນ ດູ ຈີນ ພັກ ກອມ ມູ ນິດ Khmer គណបក្ស កុម្មុយនីស្ត ឥណ្ឌូចិន ) was a political party in French Indochina . It emerged in October 1930 from the Vietnamese Communist Party (Việt Nam Cộng sản Đảng).

The Vietnamese Communist Party was founded on February 3, 1930 by the union of the Communist Party of Indochina , which despite its name was only active in Tonkin , with the Communist Party of Annam , which was only active in Cochinchina . Later she also joined the Communist League of Indochina , which was active in Annam .

The Comintern urged the Vietnamese communists to become active not only in Vietnam, but throughout French Indochina .

renaming

In October 1930, the Vietnamese Communist Party finally decided to rename itself the Indochinese Communist Party , which from then on devoted itself to its revolutionary activities not only in Vietnam, but also in Laos and Cambodia .

Party platform

The party program consisted of 10 points:

  1. Overthrow of French imperialism, Vietnamese feudalism and the reactionary bourgeoisie
  2. Complete independence of Indochina
  3. Establishment of a workers', peasants' and soldiers' government
  4. Confiscation of all banks and companies owned by the imperialists by the workers, peasants and soldiers' government
  5. Confiscation of all agricultural land owned by the imperialists and the reactionary bourgeoisie of Vietnam and their distribution to needy small farmers
  6. Introduction of the 8-hour day
  7. Abolition of the obligation to buy government bonds, the poll tax and all taxes that discriminate against the poor
  8. Democratic freedoms for the masses
  9. Access to education for all people
  10. Equality between men and women

On November 11, 1945, the Indochinese Communist Party issued a communiqué in which it announced its dissolution. Several members of the Indochinese Communist Party were involved in the founding of the Workers' Party of Vietnam in 1951 , the direct predecessor of today's Communist Party of Vietnam .
