The Chamber of Commerce of East Westphalia, Bielefeld is a public corporation and has the statutory task of the overall interest of the related traders and companies in East Westphalia , ie in the independent city Bielefeld and the districts of Gütersloh , Herford , Hoexter , Minden-Lübbecke and Paderborn perceive . Seat and organization
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK) is based in Bielefeld on Elsa-Brändström-Straße. There are branches in Paderborn and Minden .
Like every Chamber of Commerce and Industry, it consists of all members, a plenary assembly sent from it, the presidium and the general management. The Presidium and the General Assembly form committees in which fundamental questions of the Chamber's work are discussed, for example in relation to tax law or energy supply. The main management is in charge of the business areas of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce and thus above all the day-to-day business. The management of the IHK-Akademie Ostwestfalen and the Administration and Business Academy work together with her. As sub-areas, the IHK Ostwestfalen also owns two associations of the business juniors (Bielefeld and Paderborn / Höxter) as well as an environmental foundation.
Business areas and activities
There are four business areas, which are subdivided into further departments. Division 1 (industry, public relations and economics) deals, among other things, with the fields of technology, public relations and environmental issues. The second division comprises central services, law and taxes, division 3 with international affairs, trade and transport. After all, vocational training belongs to the fourth business area.
The IHK Ostwestfalen also publishes the Ostwestfälische Wirtschaft magazine on a monthly basis , organizes trade fairs and supports cooperation with international trading partners and markets, for example through the international meeting weeks Ostwestfalen meets .
