Industrial District Museum

The Industrieviertel Museum is located in the city of Wiener Neustadt at Anna-Rieger-Gasse 4.

At this location there was a hammer forge with a workshop building next to it. The hammer forge was demolished, the foundation of the heavy anvil and some architectural stones and workshop stones have been preserved in the forecourt of the museum. The associated workshop building could be preserved, is now a listed building and now serves as a museum. The ground-level workshops form a courtyard, with the central street above the courtyard entrance being provided with an upper floor.

The initiator and former director of the museum, Karl Flanner , was able to set up this museum as an employee of the Wiener Neustadt city archive and opened it in 1982.
