House Oberbilker Allee 287

The building complex Oberbilker Allee 287 in Düsseldorf was built from 1928 to 1929 as a youth home with apartments based on designs by Ernst Schoeffler , Carlo Schlönbach and Carl Jacobi for the union association Jugendwohl eV . It “is reminiscent of the AOK building that was built by the same architects”. The architects Schöffler, Schlönbach and Jacobi became known in particular for their Berlin film palaces, such as the Titania Palace . The building in the style of New Building is "more committed than any other Düsseldorf architect to Berlin role models, especially Erich Mendelsohn ". The complex is divided into two structures. The left component is narrow and plastered. It is a tower-like structure with semicircular balconies attached to the corners. The vertical of the tower is emphasized by double, vertical staircase ledges. The right component is wide and clinkered.
