Josef Staudinger

Josef Staudinger (born June 15, 1949 - † July 25, 2015 ) was an Austrian trade union official . Staudinger was also the mayor of his community in Guntramsdorf from 1990 to 1994 .

The trained plumber was employed by Brau Union until 1986 . In 1986 he became secretary of the Bau-Holz trade union , and in 1993 he became state secretary of the Bau-Holz trade union. In 1991 he took over the office of Vice President of the Chamber for Workers and Salaried Employees for Lower Austria .

On November 3rd, 1994 Josef Staudinger was sworn in as the 5th President of the Lower Austrian Chamber of Labor. In 2000 Staudinger also became Vice President of the Federal Chamber of Labor and from 2002 to 2009 he was also the chairman of the Lower Austrian Federation of Trade Unions .

In the Chamber of Labor elections in 2004 he achieved a record election result for the parliamentary group of Social Democratic Unionists (FSG) with a share of 70 percent .

In 2009 Josef Staudinger handed over the role of AKNÖ President and Chairman of the ÖGB-NÖ to his successor, Hermann Haneder .

Awards

He is the bearer of the Golden Commander's Cross, the Decoration of Honor for Services to the Federal State of Lower Austria and the Great Golden Decoration of Honor for Services to the Republic of Austria . He also received the Golden Ring of Honor from the Lower Austrian Chamber of Labor.
