"Infantry Division 45" was a new structure of the army of the German Wehrmacht that was decreed towards the end of the Second World War . On December 10, 1944, the Army High Command issued Order No. I / 21 000/44 g. Kdos. According to this, all infantry divisions, including the Volksgrenadier divisions of the field army, should take the structure of the "Infantry Division 45". The only exceptions were the six divisions stationed in Norway ( 210th , 230th , 270th , 274th , 280th , 295th ).

The nominal number of personnel was now 352 officers, 29 civil servants, 1947 NCOs and 9581 men (including 698 foreign volunteers ). The material equipment consisted of 7594 rifles, 1563 pistols, 462 light machine guns, 74 heavy machine guns, 79 grenade launchers, 10 3.7 cm flak, 11 7.5 cm PaK, 35 infantry guns, 25 light field howitzers, 12 heavy field howitzers, 14 assault guns, 138 motorcycles, 146 cars, 185 trucks, 32 caterpillar tractors East , 1273 hauled vehicles, 368 un hauled vehicles and 1456 bicycles.

Due to the collapsing fronts and the material and personnel shortages, however, this reclassification was only partially carried out.
