The 111th Infantry Regiment was an infantry regiment of the German Wehrmacht .
history
The regiment was in the tradition of the 3rd Baden Infantry Regiment of the Baden Army , which was founded in 1803. After the reintroduction of compulsory military service , the regiment was re-established as the 111th Infantry Regiment and moved into the Buckenberg barracks in Pforzheim on October 6, 1935 .
The regiment fought in various theaters of war during World War II and was renamed Grenadier Regiment 111 in 1942.
