Kurt Lottner
Kurt Lottner (born October 30, 1899 in Hamm , † March 15, 1957 in Bad Schwartau ) was a German officer , most recently major general in World War II .
Life
He served in the Wehrmacht as a general staff officer a . a. in the 239th Infantry Division and in the XII. Army Corps . Lottner led the 111th Infantry Regiment as commander in World War II . After being seriously wounded in 1943, he was initially unable to work in his hometown Bad Schwartau after hospital stays and from the beginning of April 1945, as a disabled man, he was the combat commander of Lübeck . On May 2, 1945 he surrendered Lübeck to the British troops without a fight and was taken prisoner by the British at Iceland Farm until 1947 .
