action

Sheriff Danielle "Danny" Adelman awaits a grand Independence Day celebration in Forest Peak. Her little sister Kelly ran away and a body is found in the woods. Then events roll over: Forest Peak is overrun by hundreds of people. You seem to be suffering from a strange disease, scream like crazy - and slump dead out of nowhere. But the dead come to life again - and stagger silently through Forest Peak. Danny Adelman intercepts a loop on the radio: "The dead eat living meat". At this very moment the first sacrifice of the living dead occurs. A woman is mangled and eaten. The zombie hunt for the living has begun. After a spectacular escape, a convoy of survivors under the leadership of Sheriff Adelman manages to escape from Forest Peak.

The convoy heads for Boscombe Field, a remote and sheltered landing site for fire fighting helicopters. After Danny has brought the group to safety for the time being, they go in search of their sister Kelly - in the direction of San Francisco . In the town of Potter, Danny discovers the Mustang her sister was using. Your search leads Danny to San Francisco. In the almost completely destroyed city, a small enclave of people is struggling to survive. They are protected by the private security organization Hawkstone. Meanwhile, some Hawkstone militias find their way to the survivors in Boscombe Field. These private mercenaries quickly seize power on the airfield, chase the men away and rape one of the women. In the meantime, Danny is going through a risky adventure in San Francisco - and discovers that some zombies have evolved. These hunt in packs. Since Danny's search for Kelly was unsuccessful and San Francisco seems lost, she returns to Boscombe Field.

Here there is a gun battle with the Hawkstone tyrants. Danny barely survives and wakes up in a junkyard near the airfield. The chased men from the airfield have holed up here. After Danny and the surviving men intentionally let the Hawkstone men and their hostages escape, Danny ambushes them in Potter. In an exciting showdown , Danny manages to free most of the hostages. After these events, the group of survivors persecuted another, peaceful clan. Here Danny finds her sister Kelly. She was bitten by a zombie and is dying. Kelly reports that the undead have reached their next evolutionary step. You can now talk and even use weapons. Kelly dies shortly afterwards. When she returns as the undead, she says the final words: “I am still me”.
