Infor is a global provider of business software for specialty industries (13 currently). With a turnover of around 2.8 billion US dollars, Infor is now the third largest manufacturer after SAP and Oracle . According to the latest figures from June 2016, Infor has around 90,000 customers and branches in 170 countries and works with 1500 partners. The company's headquarters were originally in Alpharetta , Georgia , United States by founder and ex-CEO Jim Schaper .

Infor is controlled by the holding company Golden Gate Capital (San Francisco, USA). Since the company is not publicly traded , Infor is not required to disclose its finances. This is how the sales figures are published, but profits or losses are not.

history

Foundation and company history

Infor was originally founded in 2002 under the name Agilisys in Malvern Pennsylvania, (USA). The company's headquarters were relocated to Alpharetta in the metropolitan area of Atlanta in February 2004 . At the same time, Agilisys acquired the German company infor business solutions AG , which was founded in 1989, and changed its name to Infor in 2005. By the end of 2010, Infor had purchased and marketed their software globally and locally to more than 50 companies worldwide. Important development locations for the German-speaking market are in: Karlsruhe, Breisach am Rhein, Darmstadt, Hamburg, Netphen (Varial), Düsseldorf (or Barneveld in the Netherlands), Stuttgart.

Acquisitions

Infor has made a number of acquisitions in the past that have particularly contributed to the market consolidation in the German-speaking region:

With Varial AG, Infor bought a software provider with a focus on financial software for the first time . Other acquisitions are Datastream, IncoDev, Mapics, MIS, Systems Union and SSA Global. All companies have now been fully integrated into Infor worldwide. Lawson's last integration was also completed since May 2012.

Other global corporate purchases from Infor: Daily Commerce, Syteline, Exenstity, Smartstream, Workbrain, Hansen, Provia, Profuse, Aperum, Infinium.

Products

Infor offers an industry-specific range of software solutions, for example for CRM ( Customer Relationship Management ), EAM (Enterprise Asset Management), ERP ( Enterprise Resource Planning ), Financial Management System, Performance Management (Business Intelligence), PLM ( Product Lifecycle Management ), SRM ( Supplier Relationship Management ), SCM ( Supply Chain Management ), HCM (Human Capital Management), XM (Expense Management) and WFM (Workforce Management).

Sales structure

More than 25% percent of total sales are generated through so-called "channel partners" (sales partners). The partner program is an essential part of the corporate strategy. Partners extend the reach as well as regional resources and experience in the industry. With the channel partners, Infor offers sales, services and support for the entire product portfolio. Infor has more than 300 channel partners in Europe and in FY 2012 (May 2011 to June 2012) Infor was able to add 150 new partners.
