inFranken.de is an online news portal with headquarters in Bamberg . The Oberfranken media group's website is one of the regional portals with the greatest reach in Germany and reaches an average of more than six million users per month. In addition to Franconian and nationwide news, the platform provides users with comprehensive service and advice topics. history

InFranken.de went live on October 25, 2008. For the first time, an online presence brought the newspaper portals of the Oberfranken media group together under one umbrella brand. Coburger-tageblatt.de, fraenkischer-tag.de and bayerische-rundschau.de merged under the new domain inFranken.de. In 2010 the portals saale-zeitung.de and diekitzinger.de were added under the umbrella brand of inFranken.de.

In the same year the first mobile version of inFranken.de was launched and the first forum (on the subject of "gardening weeks") was created. Until 2019, expert Jupp Schröder provided the readers with tips and tricks on everything to do with gardens and nature, but now the traditional and experienced nurseries from Bamberg are doing this. This content is also available in the garden app that was published in 2014 and has been actively used since then .

Since 2013, some articles have only been available through the paid subscription to inFranken.dePLUS.

The Oberfranken media group was the first German media company to start WhatsApp as a news channel in 2014 and used it to link articles from inFranken.de on a daily basis until the WhatsApp newsletter was banned in December 2019. In 2015 inFranken.de launched the inFranken.de NEWS app and the inFrankenPix app.

In September 2018, the news platform was among the top 25 news portals in Germany (according to AGOF, as of September 2018). In March 2020, inFranken.de reached its all-time high with 27.3 million visits.
