Inge Kaul

Inge Kaul is an associate professor at the Hertie School of Governance , Berlin , Germany and advises various state, multilateral and non-profit organizations on political options for overcoming global challenges.

Career

She specializes in global public goods , with much of her work being in the areas of financing international cooperation, public-private partnerships , global governance , diplomacy on global issues, and United Nations reform . She was the first director of the Human Development Report Office of the United Nations Development Program . She held this position from 1989 to 1994 and headed with Mahbub ul Haq the team that worked on the Human Development Report. She then served as Director of the Development Studies Office of the United Nations Development Program from 1995-2005 . She is the author of publications on international public economy and finance and was the lead editor of the books Providing Global Public Goods: Managing Globalization and The New Public Finance: Responding to Global Challenges.
