House 33

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The House 33 (formerly Big Love ) is a famous techno club in central Nuremberg district St. Lawrence .

history

The club was opened on November 1, 2013 under the name Große Liebe as an event location for the gay scene and is located in the Nuremberg red light district at the Frauentormauer in the southern part of the old town of St. Lorenz . Before that, there was a brothel and then the Stars & Stairs disco in the premises at Engelhardsgasse 33. In October 2014, the club changed its name to house 33 , targeting Gays and Friendswas kept. National and international bookings from the genres of techno and house made supraregional awareness in the scene, which also offers local artists a platform. The DJs and live acts that played in Haus 33 include DJ Hell , Florian Meindl , Jake the Rapper , Oliver Schories , Pretty Pink , Robert Babicz , Sebastian Groth and Tobias Lützenkirchen .

Furnishing

House 33 occupies three floors, with the main floor on the ground floor and another dance floor and a smoking balcony on the first floor. The top floor has a coffee bar, cloakroom and toilet facilities. From the two upper floors you have a view of the central area of the Nuremberg red light district by the city wall . The interior is mainly black, on the ceilings of the dance areas there are many small lightbulbs with which you can create cloud structures or strobe lights. There are continuous tapes with the names of prominent homosexuals on each staircase.

Special event formats

In the summer of 2019, the owners of the club organized a so-called Techno Train , during which around 600 people were able to celebrate on a seven-hour train ride through Bavaria in eleven wagons with food on site to electronic music by Sebastian Groth , Klanglos and 23 other DJs. The event achieved national and international feedback, so that an expansion of the offer on the part of the organizers could not be ruled out. A repetition of the event was planned for the end of May 2020. Its implementation is currently still uncertain due to the COVID-19 pandemic .

In addition, live performances were streamed from the Eucharius Chapel of the Egidienkirche in Nuremberg on Easter Vigil 2020 in cooperation with the Die Rakete club under the motto Church goes Clubbing: Dance into Life . It represents the first streaming of a techno event from a church. According to the pastor, the parish wants to show solidarity with the cultural scene by means of a virtual bell bag . The event took place as a replacement for a public techno party originally planned on March 21, 2020 under the name Techno-Church in the Lux Youth Church , which had to be canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Others

In April 2020, Haus 33 was part of the United We Stream series, together with the Nuremberg club Die Rakete and three Munich discos , which are streaming live performances from various clubs around the world during the COVID-19 pandemic.
