Lorenz is part of the old town of Nuremberg , the name of the statistical district 01 Altstadt, St. Lorenz and the district 3449.

history

The Lorenz side of the old town was formerly known as the "Laurenz side". It includes the part located south of the Pegnitz , named after the patron of the Lorenz Church . The term has been used for the Lorenz old town since the middle of the 19th century.

Today, with the Breiten Gasse, the Königsstraße and the Karolinenstraße, it houses large parts of the pedestrian zone and the main shopping streets of Nuremberg.

Lorenz is the name given to the walled old town of Lorenz within the penultimate or last city fortifications and the suburbs that belong to the parish of St. Lorenz and have been incorporated since 1825. To the north is the old town of Sebald .
