Falkenheim is a district in the south of Nuremberg and the name of the statistical district  442.

location

The Falkenheim district is located south of the Südfriedhof and north of the south-west bypass between Gartenstadt in the west and Kettelersiedlung in the northeast. The part to the east of Saarbrückener Strasse includes the statistical district 442 Falkenheim and the part to the west of this street includes the statistical district 451 Gartenstadt (south) .

history

Mayor Julius Loßmann laid the foundation stone of the semi-detached house on Pfälzer-Wald-Straße 54/56 on July 1, 1950. This was the start of the Falkenheim housing cooperative's settlement project, which was to create a total of 217 settler houses in the following years. The construction phase extended well into the 1960s. Each semi-detached house had 90 m², built on an area of ​​approx. 600 m²

Award

In 1962, Falkenheim won the Bavarian State Prize in the Most Beautiful Settlement competition in the category of small settlements .
