Pirckheimerstraße is the name of the statistical district 08 in Nuremberg's narrow inner city north of the Imperial Castle .

geography

The Pirckheimerstraße district is bordered in the north by Archivstraße, Meuschel- and Maxfeldstraße, in the east by Bayreuther Straße, in the south by Vestnertorgraben / Maxfeldgraben and in the west by Bucher Straße.

The western part of the statistical district 08 is in the district 3420 Gardens behind the Veste , a small eastern part in the district 3419 Gardens near Wöhrd .

history

In 1873 a northern tangential road was built between the arterial roads to Erlangen and Heroldsberg, which was named after the humanist Willibald Pirckheimer . From 1875 to 1954 a distinction was made between Untere, Middle and Upper Pirckheimerstraße.

Buildings from the Wilhelminian era still exist in the Pirckheimerstraße district today.
