The Nuremberg district of Leyh is on the city limits of Fürth and is connected to traffic by the Frankenschnellweg . Leyh, surrounded by industrial companies, lies between the neighboring districts of Doos in the north, Muggenhof in the northeast, Eberhardshof in the east, Gaismannshof in the southeast and Höfen in the south. The west of the district is bounded by the urban area of Fürth.
history
The existence of Leyh can be proven until the 15th century. There are several meanings for the name of the place ( zum Lay , vom Ley , Layh , etc.). These derive the place name from either swamp, wood or rock.
Towards the end of the 18th century there were 8 properties in Leyh. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach Oberamt Cadolzburg , but this was disputed by the imperial city of Nuremberg . The landlords were the Deutschordenskommende Nürnberg (1 tavern) and the Nuremberg owners of Behaim (1 half-yard), von Ebner (2 half-yards) and vonöffelholz (4 half-yards). The landlords exercised the village and community rule together. In 1800 there were 7 properties in the village.
As part of the parish edict, Leyh was assigned to the Höfen tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Höfen , which was founded in the same year . In voluntary jurisdiction, 4 properties were subordinate to the Patrimonial Court (PG) Gibitzenhof from 1825 to 1835 , 1 property from 1823 to 1835 to the PG Leyh and 2 properties from 1822 to 1836 to the PG Weikershof .
Leyh was incorporated into the city of Nuremberg in 1899.
