history
The village of Lichtenhof was first mentioned in 1358. There was probably already a fortified seat at this time. In its place the Lichtenhofer Schlösschen, the so-called Petzenschloss (Wirthstraße 74-76), was built.
Towards the end of the 18th century there were 9 properties in Lichtenhof (castle with gardener's house, 6 estates, 1 inn). The high court exercised the imperial city of Nuremberg , but this was disputed by the Brandenburg-Ansbach Oberamt Schwabach . The sole landlord was the Nuremberg owner von Petz .
In 1796 the place passed into Prussian ownership, in 1806 Lichtenhof belonged to Bavaria . As part of the community edict, Lichtenhof was assigned to the Galgenhof tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community Galgenhof , which was founded in the same year . After its dissolution, Lichtenhof belonged to the rural community Gibitzenhof formed in 1826 . In voluntary jurisdiction, the entire place was subject to the Lichtenhof Patrimonial Court until 1812 and from 1820 to 1848 .
The most important institution of the 19th century was the county agricultural school. It was demolished for the new building of the Südbad. On January 1, 1899, Lichtenhof was incorporated into Nuremberg .
