history

The former municipality of Wetzendorf was first mentioned in a document in 1146. It originated in the area of today's District 722 and the areas adjoining these to the south.

At the end of the 18th century there were 32 properties in Wetzendorf. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach Oberamt Cadolzburg , but this was disputed by the imperial city of Nuremberg . The state alms office of the imperial city of Nuremberg held the village and community rulership. The landlords were the Landesalmosenamt (2 farms, 18 half farms, 8 estates, community pastoral house) and the Nuremberg owner of Oelhafen (2 half farms, 1 Gütlein).

In 1796 Wetzendorf became Prussian , in 1806 Bavarian . The tax district Wetzendorf was formed in 1808 as part of the municipal edict. In the same year the rural community Wetzendorf was formed, which was congruent with the tax district. In administration and jurisdiction it was subordinate to the Regional Court of Nuremberg and in financial administration to the Fürth Rent Office . From 1820 to 1848, 4 properties were subject to the Buchschwabach Patrimonial Court . From 1862 Wetzendorf was administered by the Nuremberg District Office . Jurisdiction has been with the Nuremberg District Court since 1880 . The financial management was taken over in 1871 by the Nuremberg Rent Office ( renamed the Nuremberg Tax Office in 1920 ). The municipality had an area of 2.279 km².

On January 1, 1899, Wetzendorf was incorporated into Nuremberg .

The idea of a small settlement for victims of the First World War came about during the Weimar Republic . The laying of the foundation stone for the settlement of war victims did not take place until the Nazi era .
