The Nuremberg District Court is the competent district court for the city ​​of Nuremberg and a court of ordinary jurisdiction . The district court has three buildings, one at Fürther Strasse 110, Bärenschanzstrasse 72a and at Bottlehofstrasse 35.

The Nuremberg District Court has two central buildings. One is located on Fürther Straße and the second on Bottlehofstraße. The judicial building in Bottlehofstrasse has a long history. It was built from 1884 to 1887 and used as the Royal School of Applied Arts. In 1940 she was elevated to the Academy of Fine Arts . On the night of August 10th to 11th, the building was badly damaged and the roof structure and dome were completely destroyed. In 1953 the building was rebuilt as a justice building and given a flat roof. In the following year, the judicial departments moved in (administration of the district court, civil and criminal departments, court treasury, bailiff, regional court). At the beginning of the 1970s, the civil and criminal departments moved to the Palace of Justice in Fürther Strasse, which also houses the Nuremberg Higher Regional Court and the Nuremberg-Fürth Regional Court .
