Hilpoltstein District Court

The Hilpoltstein District Court was a Bavarian court of ordinary jurisdiction that existed from 1879 to 1973 and was based in the Middle Franconian town of Hilpoltstein , which was housed in the former ducal residence. The court continued to operate as a branch of the Schwabach District Court until 2004.

On the occasion of the introduction of the Courts Constitution Act on October 1, 1879, a district court was set up in Hilpoltstein, the district of which largely corresponded to that of the previously existing Hilpoltstein district court :

The next higher instance was the Eichstätt Regional Court until October 1, 1944 , and then the Nuremberg-Fürth Regional Court .

On January 3, 1946, the district court of Greding was downgraded to a branch of the district court of Hilpoltstein and this was confirmed again in 1956. On July 1, 1959, by order of the Bavarian State Minister of Justice, this branch was closed. The Eichstätt District Court was dissolved on July 1, 1973 and continued as a branch of the Schwabach District Court . The branch was closed in 2004.
