history

The name Steinbühl is derived from Bühl for hill and the seat of the Lords of Stein (Breitenstein) built on it from the 13th century, which has not existed since the 18th century. Another manor stood at Wiesenstrasse 19 until it was destroyed in 1945.

At the end of the 18th century there were 35 properties in Steinbühl. The high court exercised the imperial city of Nuremberg , but this was disputed by the Brandenburg-Ansbach Oberamt Schwabach . The landlords were the Teutonic Order of Nuremberg (6 houses); the imperial city of Nuremberg: Mendelsche Twelve Brothers Foundation (5 houses), Peter and Paul Foundation (1 house); Nuremberg owners von Behaim (3 houses), von Fürer (1 Schlösslein, 1 pencil factory, 2 bar, 1 bath house, 6 houses), von Haller (4 houses), von Harsdorf (2 houses), von Holzschuher (1 Gütlein), von Kreß (1 house), from Peller (1 house), from Petz (1 house).

In 1796 Steinbühl went to Prussia and in 1806 to Bavaria . As part of the municipal edict, the tax district Steinbühl was formed in 1808 , to which Tafelhof belonged. In the same year the rural community Steinbühl was formed, which was congruent with the tax district. In administration and jurisdiction it was subordinate to the Regional Court of Nuremberg and in financial administration to the Fürth Rent Office . In voluntary jurisdiction, 11 properties were subordinate to the Patrimonial Court (PG) Haimendorf from 1822 to 1836 , 3 properties from 1823 to 1835 to the PG Leyh and 1 property from 1823 to 1836 to the PG Nemsdorf . In 1825, Tafelhof was incorporated into Nuremberg. From 1862 Steinbühl was administered by the Nuremberg District Office . Jurisdiction has been with the Nuremberg District Court since 1880 . The financial management was taken over in 1865 by the Nuremberg Rent Office ( renamed the Nuremberg Tax Office in 1920 ). On January 1, 1865, Steinbühl was incorporated into Nuremberg .

From 1889 the large factories were built on Landgrabenstrasse, Gugelstrasse and Humboldtstrasse. The Christ Church was built around 1893/94. Due to the severe destruction of Steinbühl in World War II , only parts of the old buildings from the Wilhelminian era have been preserved. The Steinbühler Schlösschen was also destroyed in the bombing in early 1945.
