St. Peter is a district of Nuremberg , name of the district 3454, part of the statistical district 10 ( Ludwigsfeld ) and had a total of 15,964 inhabitants on December 31, 1997.

In the north beyond the railway lines is Tullnau and the Wöhrder Wiese , in the west Glockenhof , in the east Gleißhammer and in the southeast Dutzendteich .

history

In 1327 the Siechkobel with the Peterskapelle on Regensburger Straße was first mentioned in a document.

Towards the end of the 18th century there was a barbeque with licensed bar in St. Peter next to the church. The high court exercised the imperial city of Nuremberg, but this was disputed by the Brandenburg-Ansbach offices of Schwabach and Schönberg . The landlord was the St. Peter and Paulsiechkobel of the imperial city of Nuremberg.

As part of the parish edict , St. Peter was assigned to the Gleißhammer tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Gleißhammer founded in the same year . In 1825 St. Peter was incorporated into Nuremberg .

religion

The place has been predominantly Protestant since the Reformation. The residents of the Evangelical Lutheran denomination parish to St. Peter, the residents of the Roman Catholic denomination to St. Kunigund (Nuremberg) .

Architectural monuments

The Evangelical Lutheran parish church of St. Peter forms the center of the district. The former Siechkobel Chapel of St. Peter and Paul has valuable medieval buildings. There are several works of art inside the church. It was built in neo-Gothic form by Josef Schmitz from 1897 to 1901 .

The historic tram depot of the city of Nuremberg is located in the St. Peter district . The museum was opened in 1985 as part of the celebrations for the 150th birthday of rail traffic in Germany . It houses old trams that once ran back and forth between Nuremberg and Fürth .

The Diehl company has its headquarters in Stephanstrasse. The headquarters of the Federal Employment Agency is located on Regensburger Strasse .
