history

The hamlet was in the 15./16. Century "Geuschmidshof" first mentioned in a document. It was probably named after the Geuschmied family from Nuremberg.

At the end of the 18th century there were 6 properties in Gaismannshof. The high court exercised the imperial city of Nuremberg , but this was disputed by the Brandenburg-Ansbach Oberamt Cadolzburg . The Landpflegamt Nürnberg was in charge of the village and community . The landlords were the forest authority Laurenzi of the imperial city of Nuremberg (1 estate), the Nuremberg owners of vonöffelholz (1 yard), von Oelhafen (2 half yards, 1 estate), von Zeltner (1 yard) and the Vacher citizen Hofmann (1 estate). In 1800 there were still 6 properties in the village.

As part of the municipal edict, Gaismannshof was assigned to the Höfen tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Höfen , which was founded in the same year . In voluntary jurisdiction, one property was subject to the Buchschwabach Patrimonial Court from 1820 to 1848 , and another property to the Gibitzenhof Patrimonial Court from 1825 to 1835 .

As part of the municipality of Höfen, Gaismannshof came to Nuremberg on January 1, 1899.

Gaismannshof has been the location of the Nuremberg wholesale market since 1959.
