history

In the 1430s, the Dutzendteich was artificially created by damming the long water and other streams. The defining word of the field name is the Middle High German word “duchte” (= reed butts ), which refers to the swampy nature of the area. Mills and hammer mills were operated at Dutzendteich until the 19th century.

At the end of the 18th century there were 4 properties in Dutzendteich. The high court exercised the imperial city of Nuremberg , but this was disputed by the Brandenburg-Ansbach Oberamt Cadolzburg and Burgthann . The sole landlord was the imperial city of Nuremberg: Forest Office Laurenzi (lake with 1 house and mills), Zinsmeisteramt Nuremberg (1 tavern).

As part of the municipal edict, Dutzendteich was assigned to the Gleißhammer tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Gleißhammer founded in the same year .

In 1899 Dutzendteich was incorporated into Nuremberg .
