Oberamt Burgthann
The Oberamt Burgthann was one of the fifteen senior offices with which the Principality of Ansbach had organized the administration of its territorial property. From 1791/92 the principality of Ansbach was administered by the Prussian state as Ansbach-Bayreuth . With that the Oberamt Burgthann became part of the Schwabach district .
location
Within the principality, the Upper Office Burgthann formed an exclave and was the upper office of this rule located furthest to the east. In the east, the nursing office in Nuremberg bordered Altdorf , in the west the Oberamt Schwabach ; to the south the former Wolfsteinische since 1740 Pfalz-neuburgische Office Pyrbaum , in the southeast of the the Teutonic Order under standing Postbauer and in the north the Nürnbergische Pflegamt run .
structure
The administrative seat of the Upper Office was Thann Castle above Burgthann . There were the Fraisch districts of Burgthann and Schönberg . However, the high jurisdiction was challenged in a large number of places by the imperial city of Nuremberg , and in some cases by the Oberamt Schwabach . The manorial claims were administered by the caste office Burgthann and the Vogtamt Burgthann.
At the end of the 18th century, the Oberamt Burgthann was subordinate to 56 places, including 1 market town, 8 parish villages , 2 church villages , 1 chapel, 55 hamlets and 39 individual farms or mills. There were a total of 1107 subject families, 280 were Ansbach, 827 were foreigners.
