Moosbach is a district of the market Feucht in the district of Nürnberger Land , Middle Franconia / Bavaria .

geography

Geographical location

The church village is a cleared island in the Nuremberg Reichswald and is located about 3 kilometers east of Feucht on the state road St 2239 to Altdorf . The A 6 motorway passes about one kilometer north of Moosbach. The place lies on the course of the Gauchsbach stream .

Neighboring places

Clockwise neighboring towns are Birnthon , Winkelhaid , Hahnhof and Feucht.

geology

The district is located in the Franconian Keuper-Lias-Land , which is part of the south-west German layer level land . The Middle Keuper is the determining geological group in Moosbach. Feuerletten ( Trossingen formation ) characterize the landscape of the clearing island. Red to sometimes deep red clay and clay marl stones are characteristic of the overburden with Mesozoic and Young Paleozoic layers from the Upper Triassic . Quaternary valley fillings also occur in the area of the Hennertsmühlgraben and other small rivers .

ground

The soil types Regosol and Pelosol developed in the north and northeast of Moosbach. In the west there are brown earth and kolluvisol consisting of silt to loam. Pseudogley soils are dominant in the southwest and south . Gleye and other groundwater-influenced soils with sandy valley sediments predominate on the valley fillings in the area of the streams .

topography

The Moosbach district is located in a topographical depression. On three sides, in an easterly, north and west direction, the terrain gradually rises. Due to the topographical situation, several rivers flow through the place. The place name reflects the natural conditions.

Flowing waters

Moosbach is located in the catchment area of the Gauchsbach. To the southwest of the district, the Hennertsmühlgraben and the Ebenbach flow together and form the Gauchsbach. The rivers fall partially or completely dry in summer. The source area of the Hennertsmühlgraben is northeast of Moosbach, south of the A6 motorway . It flows through the district parallel to Moosbacher Straße. At the Erlengrund another small stream flows into the Hennertsmühlgraben. In the historical land map ( Bavarian first recording ) from the 19th century, this flowing water is referred to as Moosbach. The historical course of the Moosbach is piped east of the street Am Erlengrund. Only the old field name Teichwiesen, in the west of the district, testifies to the old, eponymous stream of the Moosbach.

climate

Moosbach is located in the cool, temperate climate zone and has a humid climate . The district is located in the transition area between the humid Atlantic and the dry continental climate . After the climate classification of Köppen / Geiger Moosbach belongs to the temperate warm rainy climate (Cfb climate). The mean air temperature of the warmest month remains below 22 ° C and that of the coldest month above -3 ° C.

Protected area

The surrounding forest areas of Moosbach are part of the European bird sanctuary Nuremberg Reichswald (6533-471). The Natura 2000 area is a contiguous forest complex, which consists mainly of pine forests. The 38,192 hectare bird sanctuary is the largest in Bavaria. The Nuremberg Reichswald is of particular importance as a habitat for a large number of bird species. The hamlet north of the confluence of Hennertsmühlgraben and Moosbach formed the lower village with house numbers 1 to 6.

The oldest inhabitants of Moosbach were Zeidler and made their living by beekeeping and beekeeping . Later they ran cattle and agriculture. Grain, potatoes and hops were grown on the sandy and loamy soils. Of the former 12 farms, there was only one farm used in 2012.

With the community edict (1808) Moosbach became a politically independent community, to which the places Gauchsmühle , Hahnhof , Weiherhaus , Mauschelhof , Rummelsberg and Fröschau belonged. On April 1, 1971, Moosbach with Gauchsmühle, Hahnhof and Weiherhaus was incorporated into Feucht as part of the Bavarian regional reform , while Mauschelhof, Rummelsberg and Fröschau were incorporated into Schwarzenbruck .
