Culture and sights

Weiherhaus mansion

The Weiherhaus manor is located in Weiherhaus . The mansion belonged to the 1370 Ebner and 1381-1465 to Haller . It was acquired by the Grundherr family in 1472 and is still owned by the family foundation established in 1857 by the barons of Altenthann and Weiherhaus . A previous building of the manor house was burned down during the Second Margrave War in 1552, and renovations were also carried out later; Today's mansion was built as a baroque two-story solid building shortly after 1700. Partly destroyed by an aerial bomb in April 1943 during the Second World War, it was then restored and comprehensively renovated from 2012 onwards and also restored to its original condition from the outside with the gable, balcony and dormers.

South of a forest road to Altenthann is the Metzgerla atonement cross .
