The village of Renzenhof is a part of the town of Röthenbach an der Pegnitz in the district of Nürnberger Land , Middle Franconia .

history

Renzenhof was first mentioned as a settlement in the Engelthaler monastery documents in 1362 and was already listed as a forestry in 1425 in Paul Stromer's forest book . This original official residence and residence of the forester, built to protect forest, game, pasture and timber rights, changed hands several times.

The manor in Renzenhof

The tower-like, three-storey mansion with its renaissance portal dates from the 16th and 17th centuries. Century. To the west are single-storey ashlar buildings and a barn with half-timbered gable and bell towers as former farm buildings. The manor house passed into the possession of the Fürer von Haimendorf family in 1558 , who only sold it again in 1847. Later it came to the Conradty family of industrialists who, under Conrad Conradty, had founded a pencil factory in the Röthenbach paper mill in 1880, which in the 19th century developed into one of the world's most important production facilities for lighting charcoal. Unfortunately, the largely early modern economic buildings fell into other hands and today show the traces of years of neglect.

Incorporation

At the beginning of the 19th century, Renzenhof belonged to the political community of Haimendorf . On July 1, 1972, the place with the community Haimendorf and its other districts Rockenbrunn , Grüne Au and Moritzberg was incorporated into the city of Röthenbach an der Pegnitz.
