Wetzendorf is a district of the city of Lauf an der Pegnitz .

The village is located in the Pegnitz valley , about 2 kilometers southwest of the city of Lauf. With its 317  m above sea level. NN it forms the lowest district of Lauf. Since the village borders directly on the southern bank of the Pegnitz, it was repeatedly affected by the frequent floods of this river. This situation only improved through the regulation of the course of the river.

Until the regional reform , Wetzendorf formed an independent rural community with the two hamlets of Himmelgarten and Letten .
