history

The two hamlets of Gaisreuth and Simmelberg once belonged to Oedenberg , the former seat of a family of servants on the soil of the German Empire. The first mention goes back to the year 1287. Simmelberg and Oedenberg were occupied by Prussia in 1796 and Bavarian in 1810. It was not until 1843 that the Oedenberg was transferred from the Erlangen district to Lauf and on July 1, 1971, it was incorporated into the town of Lauf an der Pegnitz.
