The church village Neunhof is a district of the town of Lauf an der Pegnitz in the central Franconian district of Nürnberger Land .

location

The place is about seven kilometers northwest of Lauf and is crossed by the state road ST2240, which joins the federal highway 2 four kilometers north . The A3 motorway runs nine kilometers to the southwest .

history

Neunhof was first mentioned in a document in 1109 on the occasion of a church consecration as a donation of the tithe "Cemo niuwen houe" (to the new court) to the collegiate monastery St. Jakob in Bamberg.

The "villa dicta zum Newenhove" was created as the new Meierhof of the Reichsamt Heroldsberg . In 1279 King Rudolf I pledged the place (with goods in Günthersbühl, Ober- and Unterschöllenbach, Tauchersreuth and the Gabermühle) to the Lords of Schlüsselberg as thanks for the help with weapons in the decisive battle of Dürnkrut against the Bohemian King Ottokar II.

Since then, Neunhof was the seat of an office and a high court and rose to become the center of an administrative district for a number of places in the area. After the Schluesselbergs died out in 1347, Emperor Charles IV enfeoffed the Nuremberg burgraves with the rights "to the Newenhof" and other places. In 1373, the burgraves enfeoffed the Nuremberg imperial schoolmaster Heinrich Geuder for life with office and court at Neunhof. 1405 was burgrave Friedrich VI. Released from the Reichslehenverband by King Ruprecht and sold his entire property in Neunhof, which became free property, to the Nuremberg citizen Hans Pirckheimer . The Mendel family came to the estates by way of inheritance. In 1438/40 they were sold to Harsdorf and from 1441 to 1445 to Geuder. In the same year Neunhof received market rights and it can be proven that it was a Vogthaus. In 1582 the Nuremberg patricians Koler became co-owners of the Neunhof estate through marriage.

Since the outbreak of the Thirty Years' War in 1618, the Geuder were forced to take out loans from the Welsers , which could neither be paid off nor repaid. In 1660/61 they had to cede their Neunhofer possessions to Welser. In 1688, after the death of the last male family member Georg Seifried Koler, the Koler half of Neunhof fell to his daughter Helene Juliana Jacobine, who was married to Johann Michael Welser.

Especially in the 17th and 18th centuries, Neunhof developed into a representative mansion and the center of an independent territory that, together with Beerbach and Tauchersreuth, formed an imperial manor . In 1806 the "small state" fell to the Kingdom of Bavaria . The Royal Bavarian Baron of Welsersche Patrimonialamt Neunhof with administrative, police and court functions existed until 1848. The three mansions as well as the Johanniskirche with the death shields and the burial place of the Barons von Welser still remind of the independent tradition of Neunhof . On July 1, 1972, the previously independent municipality was incorporated into the city of Lauf an der Pegnitz as part of the municipal area reform.
