history
Oedenberg was established as the seat of a family of service men on Reichsboden. The first mention goes back to the year 1287. Since 1304 there have been patrician families from Nuremberg in Oedenberg Castle. The small manor is now a restaurant. The castle was first mentioned in 1177 as a Schottenkloster. It burned down completely in the Margravial War in 1553 and was rebuilt as a hunting lodge around 1730. The hamlet is occupied by Prussia in 1796. In 1865 the castle became the property of the Fensel family. The restaurant, which also has its own butcher's shop, is now in the 6th generation as a family business. Oedenberg went to Bavaria in 1810. In 1843 the district of Erlangen transferred the place to Lauf. On July 1, 1971, he joined the city of Lauf.
