history

The name of the place, first mentioned in 1109, was probably a certain Tuchan, a settler who cleared the forest area and made it usable. A lexicon describes the place in 1799:

“… A village on the mountains between Neunhof and Heroldsbergen. It belongs with all high and low righteous people to the freyen von Neunhof, which is responsible for the lords of Welser. "

- Johann Kaspar Bundschuh

Together with Beerbach , Tauchersreuth was a patronage community of the Welser von Neunhof and zu Beerbach families . In the late Middle Ages, more and more Nuremberg citizens were landlords . Until 1806, both places were part of the Neunhof territory. Since 1806 Beerbach and Tauchersreuth formed one community. As part of the regional reform , they were added to the Erlangen district in 1972 (from May 1, 1973, Erlangen-Höchstadt district ) and, after considerable protests by the population, incorporated into the city of Lauf an der Pegnitz on July 1, 1976.

  • Elevated water reservoir and historical water supply in Tauchersreuth
The central water supply in Tauchersreuth replaced the village wells in 1907. At the turn of the century, this was a masterpiece. A spring about one kilometer from the village and 55 meters below supplied the elevated tank with water through a pump ( Ram ) that only worked with the flow pressure of the water . Its capacity is 40 cubic meters. The plant was shut down in 1976 and renovation work began in 1979, which was completed in 1989. Since then, the system has been fully functional again and a monument to the history of technology.
