The village of Kotzenhof is part of the city of Lauf an der Pegnitz in the district of Nürnberger Land in Middle Franconia / Bavaria . It is located in the west of Lauf, west of Eschenauer Strasse ( State Road 2240 ) and on the west bank of the Bitterbach , which has formed the Bitterbach Gorge in the local area .

In the meantime the hamlet has developed into a settlement area with around 15 streets. Kotzenhof is bordered by the forest in the west and south. Rudolfshof joins in the north. Kotzenhof and Rudolfshof developed from individual farms on the street Neunhof - Lauf. Nuremberg patricians, the church of Lauf and the monastery of St. Catherine in Nuremberg exercised the manorial rule. From 1796 to 1810 the place was occupied by Prussians, after which it was subordinate to the municipality of Rückersdorf, which belonged to the district of Erlangen. It was not until 1824 that it was assigned to the Lauf district. The reclassification of Rudolfshof and Kotzenhof to the town of Lauf was not successful until 1952.
