Prackenfels is a district of the town of Altdorf near Nuremberg in the district of Nürnberger Land , Middle Franconia .

Geographical location

The village is 1.8 kilometers south of Altdorf on the southern slope of the Schwarzach Valley . The place has grown together with Lochmannshof and borders on the Prethalmühle . Prackenfels can only be reached by car via Altdorf. Bundesautobahn 3 runs about 600 meters to the north .

history

Prackenfels was first mentioned in a document in 1362, on the occasion of the sale of a farm to Emperor Karl IV . The old Prackenfels Castle, destroyed in 1504, was on the edge of the Pfaffental and can no longer be seen.

With the community edict (1808) Prackenfels belonged to the politically independent community Grünsberg . On January 1, 1972, the place was incorporated into Altdorf as part of the Bavarian regional reform .

The townscape is determined by some Middle Franconian farmhouses and half-timbered houses , some of which are listed . Agriculture is practiced around the place. Prackenfels has no shops, no inn and a bus stop. The place is known for the former Protestant youth conference center " Hermann-Ehlers -Haus"

Nearby are the devil's cave near Altdorf , which is well worth seeing, as well as the lions' den .
