Au is a district of the city of Altdorf near Nuremberg in the district of Nürnberger Land , Middle Franconia ( Bavaria ).

Geographical location

The village of Au is located north of the federal highway 3 (Nürnberg-Passau) between the S-Bahn line Nürnberg-Altdorf, the district road LAU 23 and the state road St 2240 and west of the city center of Altdorf. The streets of the village are called Am Bühl, Weihergasse, Ellholzweg, Zum Kanzelschlag, Leinwiesenweg and An der Ziegelei. There is an industrial park in the northeast of the district . The nearest S-Bahn station is Ludersheim and the nearest motorway junction is Altdorf / Burgthann.

Au connects to Ludersheim with almost no transition and can only be reached by a dead end from Ludersheim.

history

With the municipality edict (1808) Au belonged to the politically independent community Penzenhofen . On January 1, 1972, the place was reclassified to Altdorf as part of the Bavarian regional reform , while Penzenhofen came to Winkelhaid .
