The Altdorf Nursing Office was one of the areas that at times comprised more than a dozen care offices with which the Imperial City of Nuremberg had organized the administration of its territorial property.

history

The Altdorf Nursing Office was established in 1504 after Nuremberg troops had taken the Palatinate town of Altdorf and its Hofmark during the War of Landshut Succession . This war was officially ended with the Peace of Cologne in 1505 , but the military clashes between the conflicting parties continued for years, mostly in small-war actions . It was only after years of negotiations that a contract was finally concluded in December 1520 in which the imperial city was granted the vast majority of the conquests it had previously made, including the Altdorf office. Apart from a financial compensation, the Electoral Palatinate was only able to get the Heimburg office located south-east of Altdorf back . The administration building and the structure of the previous Palatinate Office Altdorf were taken over when the Nuremberg Nursing Office was set up. In 1806, when the city of Nuremberg became part of the Kingdom of Bavaria, it was dissolved and converted into the royal Bavarian district court Altdorf . Parts of the former old landscape , such as today's communities Feucht and Schwarzenbruck, also came to the Altdorf district court.
