The Forest Office Sebaldi (also Sebalder Forest Office ) was, in addition to the at times more than a dozen maintenance offices, one of the two forest offices with which the imperial city of Nuremberg had organized the administration of its territorial property .

geography

The administrative area, also known as the Sebalder Forest Office , essentially comprised the area of the Sebalder Reichswald . It was delimited on three sides by rivers, in the north this was the Schwabach , in the west the Regnitz and in the south the Pegnitz . The territorial border did not coincide with the respective course of these rivers, but only roughly followed it. The eastern boundary of the territory was mainly formed by the Lauf administration office .

history

The Seebaldi forest office was established in 1489 when the imperial city of Nuremberg appointed a deputation of six so-called forest gentlemen to manage its possessions in the Lorenzer and Sebald imperial forest . These were each subordinate to a forest officer who came from the circle of advisable noble families of Nuremberg.
