The Graefenberg Nursing Department was one of the areas that at times comprised more than a dozen nursing departments with which the imperial city of Nuremberg had organized the administration of its territorial property.

history

Beginning in 1428, it was the imperial city of Nuremberg succeeded by the noble families of von Holzschuher , of Helchner and of Ketzel various ownership interests in and around Gräfenberg to acquire. From these possessions, the imperial city formed the Graefenberg care office , which was administered by a carer . He resided in a nursing home that was restored and rebuilt in 1560 especially for this purpose. The Graefenberg care office ended in 1806 when the imperial city of Nuremberg was robbed of its independence with the Rhine Confederation Act and was forcibly taken over by the Kingdom of Bavaria .
