Office of the fortress
The Office of the fortress was one of the times, more than a dozen Pflegämter extensive areas with which the city of Nuremberg , the administration had organized their territorial possessions. The Nuremberg Burggrafenburg was the official seat of the Nursing Office .

The office of the fortress was connected with the Nuremberg Burggrafenburg , mentioned some time after 1050 as castrum , which was sold on June 27, 1427 by the Hohenzollern of the imperial city of Nuremberg including the "office of the fortress" and additional affiliations for 120,000 guilders. Until the end of the imperial city of Nuremberg, the office of the fortress shared the fate of this territory and only came into the possession of the Kingdom of Bavaria together with the imperial city in 1806 .
