Obadiah Richard Toppin (born March 4,  1998 in Brooklyn ) is an American basketball player .

career

Toppin was born and raised in Brooklyn. He was part of the basketball team at Ossining High School in Ossining , then moved to Baltimore , Maryland, and continued his education at Mount Zion Prep Academy. In 2017 he was accepted into the squad at the University of Dayton in Ohio , but initially suspended in the 2017/18 season. In 2018/19 he was the best scorer of the university team with 14.4 points per match, after the end of the season he signed up for the NBA draft procedure , but had his name removed from the list at the end of May 2019 and returned to university.

In candidate rankings for the NBA selection process in summer 2020, he will be listed as a contender for a place in the top five players.
